It’s Complete!
CAUGHT ONE!: 2011; 36″ (w) x 75″ (h) x 32″ (d); wood door/rods, leaves, polyurethane, paper, oils, fishing line
Made from salvaged and found materials, this sculpture takes a more abstract look at similar ideas. “Caught One!” recalls a fish of leaves hanging from an unknown fisherman’s pole. The “fish” is a paper maiche base covered in polyurethane-coated magnolia leaves surrounded by painted lines. This part of the sculpture measures: 10″ (w) x 22″ (h) x 10″(d). The base is a salvaged wooden door cut in three. The largest wooden rod was first burned in bark-like patterns and then wrapped with tiny strips of rice paper. Fishing line supports the wooden rod holding the “fish.”
Caught One! = Completed!

[[Each pane is a two-toned relief linoleum carving. It is one of a kind and cannot be replicated. I completed this in a little less than a month -- my biggest printmaking project to date in such a short amount of time!]]
